BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY
JUNE 30, 2014
A SPECIAL & TELEPHONIC MEETING of the Board of Public Safety was held in the Mayor’s Office on Monday, June 30, 2014.
Those in attendance included Mayor Elinor Carbone, Commissioners Douglas Benedetto, Richard Zaharek, and Robert Conforti. Police Chief Michael Maniago and Sergeant Linas Venclauskas were also present. Commissioner Darlene Battle participated via telephone. Commissioner Angelo LaMonica was absent.
Mayor Carbone called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
EXECUTIVE SESSION – Police Personnel
On a motion by Commissioner Robert Conforti, seconded by Commissioner Benedetto, the Board voted unanimously to enter Executive Session under Police Personnel at 9:02 a.m., inviting Chief Maniago and Sergeant Venclauskas.
OPEN SESSION
On a motion by Commissioner Benedetto, seconded by Commissioner Robert Conforti, the Board voted unanimously to enter Open Session at 9:13 a.m.
HIRE PROBATIONARY POLICE OFFICERS
On a motion by Commissioner Zaharek, seconded by Commissioner McLeod, the Board voted unanimously to hire Joshua Dallas, Nicholas Duque and Thomas Connolly as probationary Police Officers whose hire dates will be July 1, 2014.
ADJOURNMENT
On a motion by Commissioner Benedetto, seconded by Commissioner Zaharek, the Board voted unanimously to adjourn at 9:15 a.m.
